Olivia Rodrigo is having a fantastic week after finding out that her song “Drivers License” Debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global chart.
Rodrigo is officially the most-streamed and top-selling song from the week.
Back on January 10th, Rodrigo dropped “Drivers License” and the song took off.
Some suspected that the song was about her ex-boyfriend, her “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” co-star Joshua Bassett, who is now dating a blonde (allegedly “Girl Meets World” star Sabrina Carpenter).
After her song was sitting next to Taylor Swift’s bonus track, “right where you left me,” Rodrigo Tweeted out to Swift saying “Next to Taylor on the US iTunes Chart…I’m in a puddle of tears.”
To bring her even more tears was Swift who responded with “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud”
Swift wasn’t the only one who reached out to Rodrigo about the song. Just last week One Direction’s Niall Horan reached out to her to say how much he enjoyed it. They are now exchanging text messages.
Super-Star Halsey also called out Rodrigo on her success on an Instagram story by showing off a cake with a picture of Olivia’s driver’s license, that reads “congrats Olivia.”
Now that “Drivers License” Debuted at No. 1, Rodrigo expects to be releasing more music in the future. For now enjoy, what some are calling the song of the Winter, below
