Explaining the Masked Singer Season 6 Format

Explaining the Masked Singer Season 6 Format

A week ago we dropped a bunch of Masked Singer news on your desk. Some of those things included new costumes, a new stage, and a new format to the show.

As promised I said I would make a new video breaking down the new format for Masked Singer Season 6, so let’s jump on it.

For those who are unaware, Every new seasonThe Producers at the Masked Singer like to put us through a new twist. In years past we have seen smackdowns, wildcards, and different eliminations.

This year the Masked Singer is keeping this tradition alive by introducing yet again a new format.

According to an executive producer of the show, This is how season 6 of the Masked Singer will run.

“We have a winner from Group A and Group B, and they’ll then be going head-to-head, almost like a prizefight, to see who is the Masked Singer. But the great thing is, they’ll be taking on each other, and they’ve never sat on the same stage together until that moment.”

This might sound confusing so we figured we would break down how this would work.

Keep in mind at this point, we don’t know how many Wildcards we are getting this season but for the sake of this article, we are going to say that there are three per group. (6 all together)

By the filming schedule, it looks like there were 15 episodes of the Masked Singer filmed.

If each group has the standard 5 people and the finale (episode 15) only shows the last two, which is the winners, then this is how we think the format will run.

  • Episode 1 – Group A performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (2 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 2 – Group B performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (2 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 3 – Group A performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (1 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 4 – Group B performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (1 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 5 – Group A performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 6 – Group B performs (5) 1 Wildcard is added in, 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 7 – Group A performs (5) 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 8 – Group B performs (5) 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 9 – Group A performs (4) 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
  • Episode 10 – Group B performs (4) 1 person revealed (0 Wildcards left)
